The Route and Reason is a community we have been wanting to build for a few years now, and we’re glad we finally have! We built this because we believe our planet, different cultures, and its people carry so many special stories that deserve to be shared. This blog will take you beyond traditional itineraries, and also capture what it actually feels like to be there. We hope it takes you on a journey of discovery, awe, and awareness – reflecting on the past and present of different places and how we impact their future. As much as we want to share with you, we want to hear from you too.
We travel because we think our planet is extraordinary – not in a bucket-list or fear-of-missing-out kind of way, but in a way that finds a place in our hearts, helps us understand more than we already know, and drives us to be better each day, for ourselves, the people around us, and the generations to come.

The two of us
Hi, Iām Kriti – the one writing what you read here. And this is Vishnu, my husband, my best friend, my travel partner, and the other half of everything on this blog. We both love travelling and exploring the lesser known. We believe that this planet is beyond exciting, and we work hard to be able to experience as much of it as possible. We travel using our vacation days and prefer to not rush through places, but live them like a local, even if for a few days. We are building our lives around a simple belief that the world is best experienced and understood slowly, from the ground, from the people who live in it.
